Classic Seiko is pleased to present this full set 6139-6000 Proof/Proof from February 1970. This watch comes with original box & certificate of origin and guarantee. Serviced in December 2020. A very rare watch made even more so with its box & guarantee certificate.

Update: Feb 13 2021. The watch has now had the lume triangle on the inner bezel sympathetically restored by the best in the business. Glass and bracelet end links have also been replaced (originals will be supplied with the watch). Please refer to photos.

All original except crystal, bracelet end links (originals will be supplied with the watch) and a retouch to lume triangle on inner bezel. Correct straight H-Link bracelet. These watches are referred to as the 'Pogue' after Colonel William Pogue who wore his own personal 6139 on NASA's Skylab 4 mission in 1973, the third and final mission to the United States’ first space station. Although the 6139 was never formally approved for mission use, Pogue stated that his operated flawlessly during his time in space where he used it to time engine burns. Pogue said that as he had been using his Seiko during training for up to year before the mission launched, (they weren't issued their Omega Speedmasters until very late in training) and had grown familiar with the Seiko, he decided to bring it as his trusted timepiece without seeking official approval from NASA
